Welcome to the Moray Firth Amateur Radio Society web site.
We are a group of radio amateurs (hams) living in the North
of Scotland, with a variety of radio interests. Membership
varies from year to year, but we have around 30 regulars,
plus a number of associated amateurs.
The club callsign is GM3TKV, under which we enter contests
and other special events, some of which are detailed on our
Past Events pages.
MFARS also owns and operates the GB3SS
(Speyside) VHF repeater which serves Moray and parts of the
surrounding area.
For those interested in starting out in amateur radio, we
run training courses for
Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced radio amateur examinations,
and have a registered examination centre in Fochabers.
For more information about the club and joining up, see the
About MFARS page or contact
the club officers.
Non-members and visitors are welcome to attend our events
and meetings (particularly the junk sales!). See the diary
for info.
Members - please help keep this site interesting and up to
date by writing articles about events and contributing photos.
Email submissions, ideas etc. to the webmaster.
